Chester “Bug” Pickard, Jr.

Graveside services for Chester “Bug” Pickard, Jr. will be held Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 3:00pm at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev Jim Hutchinson and Rev. Gary Pickard officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Pickard, 90, died Thursday, April 25, 2018 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a Marine veteran and a member of the Marine Corp Legion. A member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church and served a Deacon. He started working for Soule’ Steam and Feed in 1955 and retired in 1992. He was the first Fire Chief of Long Creek Volunteer Fire Department and member of the React Search and Research.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Caraway Pickard; brothers: Lewis Pickard and his wife, Blanche; Johnny Pickard and Woodrow Pickard; parents, Chester A. Pickard, Sr. and Rachael Delcenia Pickard.

He is survived by his son, Steve Pickard and wife, Carolyn; daughters: Pamela Thompson and husband, Michael; Sheryl Marshall and husband, Tiny; grandchildren: Dana Hopkins and husband, Jeffrey, Stephanie Read and husband, Chris, Renae Busbea and husband, Brock, Tyler Thompson and wife, Kalyn, Ben Thompson, Will Thompson and fiancee, Peyton, Thomas Marshall, Nathan Goldman and wife, Heather, Jenny Harvey and husband, Ryan; Emily Stanley and husband, Stephen; great grandchildren: Justin Hopkins, Makayla Hopkins, Taylor Read, Brooklyn Read, Jordan Read, Beth Read, Blayze Busbea, Dalton Goldman, Tyler Goldman, Braxton Stanley, Brannon Stanley and Levi Carter Marshall; sister-in-law, Eloise Pickard; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chris Read, Jeffrey Hopkins, Tyler Thompson, Ben Thompson, Will Thompson, Thomas Marshall and Brock Busbea. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Goldman, Ronald Pickard, Eric Pickard, Jerome Pickard and Jeremy Pickard.
